Meatless Freezer Meals

Healthy Choice Power Bowl with Falafel and Tahini

This post is sponsored by Babbleboxx.com on behalf of Conagra Brands. One of the biggest frustrations of so many vegans has been that there is not enough selection when it comes to meatless frozen meals. As I stroll down the freezer aisles at the grocery store, I always do a quick scan of the latest and greatest products just to see if there is anything at all that I can try. And to be honest, the answer is almost always no!

BUT this time, it was different. This time when I did my usual scanning for “things that are vegetarian, maybe even vegan that I can heat up and eat when I am in a hurry” I was in luck! I spotted not one, not two but three different freezer meals that I could try! A Healthy Choice Power Bowl, Gardein Nashville Hot Chick’n Tenders and a Birds Eye Oven Roasters Sheet Pan Vegetables with Broccoli and Cauliflower.

First one up to try was the Healthy Choice Vegan and Vegetarian Power Bowl with Falafel and Tahini. It’s made with a crispy falafel (a vegan staple!), red onion and tomatoes in a creamy tahinis sauce laid on top of kale, red quinoa and black barley. One of the reasons this find was so exciting is:

  1. Plant based eaters love a good bowl, and there is literally not one bowl (unless its a pasta bowl topped with loads of cheese) that I have been able to find at my local grocery store.

  2. It’s filled with wholesome, good ingredients that are familiar and that I eat regularly.

  3. Not only does it have complete meatless proteins in it like quinoa, it also has greens and kale which helps meet everyones veggie quota for the day! I loved how easy it was to pop in the microwave and within a few minutes I had myself a meal!

Next up on my meatless frozen food list are these Gardein Nashville Hot Chick’n Tenders. I’ve seen this around now for a few years, but this time I knew I wanted to give them a try. I recently purchased an air fryer and my kiddos beg me to cook their chicken nuggets in it, so I thought, what the heck, these sound pretty tasty and I want to try out my new air fryer so what’s to lose?

Okaaaay, let me tell you….two words…GAME CHANGER! Not only do these have 13g of plant based protein they taste delicious! Usually I’m not a big fan of spicy foods, but these have just the right amount of spice! These are not only certified vegan, but they are also non-GMO, dairy free and kosher. I served meatless along with some sweet potato fries and watermelon for the perfect summer meal. These would also be a perfect addition to a bbq or your next family gathering! I plan on having these hot and ready for the super bowl this year.

Now when I spotted these in my local grocer’s freezer aisle, I was intrigued. I thought to myself, sheet pan veggies….you mean someone does the work for me? Sold!

As a nutritionist I get questions about frozen vegetables all the time. I suggest to look for brands like Birds Eye, that flash freeze their vegetables at the peak of freshness. This allows for all the nutrients to be preserved so that when the dish is prepared, the vegetables are perfectly cooked.

These Birds Eye Oven Roasters Sheet Pan Vegetables Broccoli and Cauliflower are so easy to make. Just roast them in the oven in under 25 minutes and bam..they are ready for your dinner table. They are in fact pre seasoned and crisp up right away when cooking. These veggies have truly taken the art of cooking dinner to a whole new level of convenience. The best part? No artificial preservatives and flavors
